Sunday "Stroll"

This Sunday, instead of walking to breakfast or to Home Depot or to the coffee place, we decided to go to St. Paul. Fabulous church. It is close enough for us to walk, but we decided to drive.

We miss St. Brendan and the familiarity of the church, the people, and the priests/deacons though... well, I guess we really miss the early morning "quiet" mass with Father Rod. It appears we'll be singing a lot at St. Paul, and we'll be worshiping for a full hour now... which is fine and good... but... the bare-bones, quiet, speaking- the-word-only, without the music and chatter and lengthy sermons was refreshing at St. Brendan. We are, however, super excited to meet new people at St. Paul. There are a few more activities I can get involved with, and now that Alexandra is getting older, she'll have more activities she can do as well.

After church, Tommy made whole wheat pancakes again. Terrific. I don't think the recipe is exactly like Rise & Dine, but it is super close. Very tasty!

After our breakfast settled, we fed our little stinky (Alexandra) and headed out for some exercise. Because Tommy lives so close to his work, he volunteered to check up on a test set for a coworker. Tommy pushed Alexandra in the running stroller (while running the entire time) and I kept pace (sometimes ahead) on my bike. We both had a good workout, and I have to admit my hip is finally starting to feel better! Here is a picture of Tommy and Alexandra at his work, after running 3 and half miles to get there. Cutie-pie. We biked/ran the 3 and half miles to get back home, and then we hung out a bit at the house, working in the basement for an hour or so.

All in all, we had a great weekend. We didn't get a lot of "house" projects done, but as a family we made great memories and enjoyed each other. Alexandra is still trying to crawl. She is able to get around by rolling, and scooting backwards. Yesterday she learned how to sit up on her own. Very neat indeed.
